About Us
The organizers of Rendezvous Mile Marker Zero would like
to take a few minutes of your time to let you know the history of this
event that takes place in Portsmouth every year over Labor Day weekend. Thirteen
years ago, founders Jimmy Spruill and Wayne Orton
decided that the power boats needed a place to create a party on the
water front and what a party it has become! Over
the last thirteen years, we have enjoyed bringing boaters together
to create camaraderie between boaters, friends and cruising partners
as the event has soared and grown over the years. The founders
of Rendezvous
Mile Marker Zero worked very hard to bring about the success that the
event enjoys today. Last year we partnered with the Elizabeth
River Foundation in an effort to help clean up the river which we all
enjoy boating, fishing and playing on. Because of the success
of Rendezvous Mile Marker Zero, we donated $14,075.00 to the Elizabeth
River Foundation and hopefully we can enjoy the river for years to
come as we continue with this great event. This was our very
first event in support of the Elizabeth River Foundation and we hope
to continue in our efforts to support a worthwhile cause.
We
hope each and every one of you will take the time to join us on the
Portsmouth waterfront where you will enjoy all the benefits that this
event can bring to the boating community. This year we
will have booths filled with a variety of exhibitors, a live band both
Friday and Saturday night along with events that will help us continue
to grow Rendezvous Mile Marker Zero.
We
extend our warmest thank you to our past and present sponsors and invite
each of you to visit their links on our website. We thank all
of you and look forward to seeing you at Rendezvous Mile Marker Zero.
